Bose Computer MusicMonitor

Old Gopher: “Bose, those little things are Bose?”
Chief Gopher: “That’s what they say on the front.”
Old Gopher: “You’re not playing a trick on me, are you? You know, taking the Bose logo and putting it on some cheapo speaker, just to see if I’ll still give it a good rating.”
Chief Gopher: “Hey, don’t believe me, listen to them. You’ll be able to tell.”

M-Audio Studiophile AV 20 Speakers

Hmm, M-Audio Studiophile AV 20 Speakers, huh? We’re getting pretty classy around here. These things are advertised as being “home studio speakers” for those who want to do their own remixes and stuff. They’ve got to be pretty good to make that kind of claim, right?
Besides, this is a company that makes professional audio equipment, I’d expect good stuff out of them.

JBL Duet Aluminum Speakers

You know, I’ve had so many desktop speakers come into my testing lab (otherwise known as my office) lately; that I thought there was nothing else to surprise me with. Then, along comes JBL; yeah, yeah, another pair of JBL desktop speakers, yada, yada. Look a little different, but then, you’ve got to look a little different to get any attention any more.

But, you know, I think they could have put these speakers in an old coffee can and still gotten attention. For a 2.0 speaker system, you won’t believe the sound these babies can put out. With these JBL Duet desktop speakers, it’s not about the look, it’s about the sound; and at a great price too.

Altec Lansing inMotion Ipod Speakers

It is sleek and sexy, with a few curves to boot. No, it’s not your hot neighbor, it’s a cool looking Altec Lansing inMotion iPod Speaker. Nobody wants something that looks awesome, but sounds like crap. So how do these puppies sound? They play several types of music great, while stumbling on a few others.

Will these play your favorite tunes? Let’s see what the Gophers think…

Logitech M305 Wireless Mouse

Like everything that Logitech has put out for the last 30+ years, the Logitech M305 Wireless USB mouse is another well designed, high quality piece of gear. The mouse itself is a little bit smaller than a typical desktop mouse, but a little bit bigger than many laptop mice. I like that, as my hands are little bit big and most laptop mice make me feel kind of clumsy.

The really great thing with this wireless USB mouse is that the receiver is so small, it doesn’t have to be removed from the USB jack on your laptop when you pack up to go home from work.

Logitech V470 Mouse (Yay for Bluetooth!)

At first glance, this Logitech Bluetooth laser mouse doesn’t look like much; I mean, it’s a mouse, you know, they don’t look all that exciting. Nothing like the class of a real gopher. Then you take the second glance and notice that the mouse doesn’t have a tail… cool. I like mice without tails, especially for hauling around with my laptop. But then, on third glance, you notice that they left out the dongle, that’s when it really caught my attention.

This mouse is both laser and Bluetooth, how cool is that? Talk about an ideal combination for my laptop, the only thing it’s missing is a cold drink dispenser. Don’t know where they’d fit that though.

Sony Bluetooth Wireless Speakers

If it looks like a pair of binoculars and sounds like music, it must be Sony’s Bluetooth Wireless Speakers. Bigger than many other laptop speakers, to give you that added bass boost, these speakers are still small enough to stuff in your backpack and take on the go. Bluetooth enabling and dual power supply options make them convenient for use wherever you are.
